Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz is giving Americans an unprecedented look inside the Trump administration's crackdown on health care fraud, traveling the country in a new film that reveals how scammers allegedly exploit Medicare, Medicaid and hospice care.
The film, first reported by Fox News, documents Oz's visits to providers suspected of bilking the system — including a stop in Flushing, Queens, where he personally delivered warning letters to two senior care centers as part of a broader federal operation.
According to Fox News Digital, which had exclusive access to the crackdown, Oz confronted employees at Kent Senior Care and Evergreen Adult Day Care on Tuesday morning. The visits were part of a sweep in which CMS officials conducted more than 80 visits and delivered warning letters to providers across New York City. The operation involved the FBI, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, the NYPD and other agencies.
At Kent Senior Care, Oz handed the director a letter notifying the business that its billing practices were under scrutiny. "The bills are much higher than they should be," Oz told the director, according to Fox News Digital. "The billing is for more people. It doesn't look very crowded here."
The director pushed back, but Fox News Digital reported that some employees attempted to leave as the inspection unfolded, while others struggled to explain check-in records dated in the future. Kent Senior Care declined comment when reached by phone. Evergreen Adult Day Care did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Oz described the scene as deeply suspicious. "The whole experience was suspicious," he told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview after the visits.
The crackdown extended beyond the two Queens facilities. Federal authorities conducted arrests and executed search warrants as part of the operation, though Fox News Digital did not independently witness those enforcement actions at either location.
The new film, which Oz is using to document the administration's efforts, aims to show the American people exactly where their tax dollars are going — and who is stealing them. Medicare and Medicaid fraud costs taxpayers tens of billions of dollars annually, according to federal estimates, and the Trump administration has made rooting out that corruption a priority.
Oz, a former television host and surgeon, was confirmed as CMS administrator in 2025. Since taking office, he has emphasized transparency and aggressive oversight of federal health programs.
The film is expected to feature footage from multiple states, highlighting different types of fraud schemes — from phantom billing in hospice care to adult day care centers that bill for patients who never show up.
For Americans struggling with rising health care costs, the message is clear: the Trump administration is going after the crooks who game the system, not the patients who depend on it.
Our Take
For years, the bureaucratic class in Washington has treated Medicare and Medicaid fraud as a cost of doing business — a wink-and-nod arrangement where billions vanish into the pockets of shady operators while seniors and taxpayers foot the bill. Dr. Oz is doing what few bureaucrats ever do: opening the doors and letting the cameras roll. The images of daycare directors scrambling to explain future-dated check-ins and empty rooms billed as packed facilities are exactly the kind of accountability the American people deserve. This is what America First looks like in practice — not endless task forces and press releases, but federal officials showing up unannounced, letters in hand, with law enforcement at their backs. The establishment media will ignore it or downplay it, but patriots should applaud it. The question now is simple: will the Justice Department follow through with prosecutions, or will these warning letters become just another bureaucratic slap on the wrist? The answer will tell us whether the swamp is truly being drained or merely stirred.
