The Biden administration knew back in February that there was an incoming baby-formula shortage. It’s now May and many American families with babies are struggling to find formula for their children.

In a statement aired on CNN, Biden’s White House Director of the National Economic Council Brian Deese said, “We were aware … back in February” of the baby formula shortage, “and we have had a team on this from the FDA and interagency process since then.”

CNN’s reporter then asked Deese if it was possible that Biden could use the defense production act to get product on the stores faster.

The White House has been struggling to come up with answers to the massive baby-formula shortage sweeping the country. Many store shelves remain bare and there has seemingly been little action from the administration to solve it.

On Thursday, Psaki still could not clearly answer CNN’s MJ Lee’s questions about federal guidance for struggling parents that needed formula to feed their children.

She asked if there was a hotline to call or if they should head to a hospital if they don’t have access to formula or breast milk.

Psaki’s responded, “I would say those are important public health questions. But … what I can convey to all of you is what we’re doing to address exactly that concern, which is taking every step we can to ensure there is supply on store shelves and we have increased the supply over the last four weeks.”

Logistical issues and a nationwide recall have kept formula off store shelves for months. According to WBALTV, manufacturers are now producing at full capacity – but cannot meet demand.

The administration is now telling states to allow governmental nutritional assistant recipients to have more freedom in what infant formula they can buy and asked the Federal Trade Commission to crack down on any manufacturers that are price gouging. They are also importing more formula from foreign sources.

Biden made this declaration when speaking with formula manufacturers and vendors. Next News covered the administration sending formula to illegal migrants here.
