On Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis spoke at a conference being held by conservative political youtuber at The Plaza Live in Orlando. He used this time to trash Disney and was interrupted by a Democrat congressional hopeful and a high school activist trying to get their 15 seconds of fame in two separate incidences.
DeSantis also used his time on stage with Rubin to bash Disney and their response to his parental rights bill that liberals smeared as the “Don’t Say Gay Bill.”
“I did not take an oath to subcontract my leadership to a corporation based in Burbank, California,” he said of the corporation and their push against him.
U.S. House candidate Maxwell Alejandro Frost, running in Florida’s 10th Congressional District, interrupted the Governor to shout his gun control lines. It’s DeSantis’ response and dismissal of the activist that has everyone talking, though.
“Gov. DeSantis, we’re losing 100 people a day due to gun violence. Governor, we need you to take action on gun violence,” Frost shouted at the governor.
“Nobody wants to hear from you,” DeSantis hit back with.
“Floridians are dying. Kids are dying,” Frost screamed back as he was escorted out of the theater.
Another high school activist, Jack Petocz, also protested the event because the conservative governor “refuses to act on gun violence.”
“Gov. DeSantis, why don’t you care about my life,” Petocz yelled. “Why don’t you care about my life? Governor, why are you making it easier – why are you making it easier for dangerous people to get guns?”

In May before the shooting in Uvalde, DeSantis called for Florida to become a bigger “leader” in promoting the Second Amendment. He’s previously pushed for Florida to implement “Constitutional Carry.” This allows anyone to carry a concealed firearm without a license.
