A restaurant in the tri-state area posted a very honest sign about the reason they were closed for lunch on January 9th.
According to the website for the Evansville, Indiana based restaurant, Cleavers is usually scheduled Saturday from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM and on Sundays from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
On that Thursday, they posted a sign saying that they were “closed today. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
“Part of our cook staff got drunk,” read the sign in a brutal summation.
The sign had Katie cracking up so hard that she took a photo and shared it on Facebook – where it’s been shared multiple times. The comments show people laughing in response.
The person who posted the photo said that she enjoys the restaurant and will just try and go there tomorrow instead.
Last year an Evansville, Indiana Tavern put out a fun sign commenting on the weather. It’s a little titillating, but it is funny.
In the last two years, restaurants have been hit harder than any other industry and they have gotten very little in the form of stimulus from Congress.
Over 110,000 restaurants and bars closed permanently in 2020 and there were over 2.5 million jobs axed from the economy because of it, said the National Restaurant Association.
We’ve all not been able to go to work the next day because we felt a little down, but the whole staff must have had a wild one that night to all call in. What do you think of the restaurant’s sign? Did you find it funny? Tell us a story of why you called into work?
