President Joe Biden’s granddaughter and daughter both tried to save the leader from himself during a rambling beach interview this week.
Biden was celebrating the Juneteenth holiday at his beach home in Rehoboth, Delaware. He was out for a walk on the beach when he was approached by a group of reporters. Without any of his handlers present to stop him, Biden did what he always wanted to do and began talking.
Quickly his daughter Ashley Biden jumped to action, trying to whimsically tell the pool of reporters, “Nope, like no more – No more questions.”
Despite her insistence, one of them asked the POTUS about his upcoming G7 meeting. He then completely ignored the First Daughter, responding, “Yes, one of the things that you may recall that I initiated was the international flat tax. We got 140-some nations to sign on.”
At that point, seeing her grandpa talking up a storm without anyone to control what he said, his granddaughter Natalie Biden came over, saying, “I’m coming.”
The President then told the flock of reporters, “This is my son Beau’s oldest daughter and she’s trying to tell me ‘dad, grandpa, pop, get going.'”
Still, a reporter from the Daily Mail piped in, asking what the Bidens had been doing to celebrate Father’s Day. In an effort to stop their patriarch from continuing his impromptu press conference, the 2 women spoke in his place.
“We had dinner,” Natalie replied.
“All hung out together,” Ashley answered.
“And we did puzzles,” Natalie added.
The Biden clan then fled down the beach.
During the short set of interviews, Joe Biden talked about his recent bike fall over the weekend, telling the journalists, “What happened was, do any of you guys ride bikes? Well, they have some that have this thing you put your toe in — holds your foot so it doesn’t slip out. I was getting off the bike, and it got stuck on the right side,’ the president explained. I’m feeling great.”
He also spoke to inflation, insisting that another recession was not inevitable. He told the reporter who mentioned multiple analyses predicting a recession next year, “Now you sound like a Republican politician.”
Joe Biden has often been criticized for being scripted, not doing interviews, and not answering questions during press conferences. Still it seems like he has no problem with them when he can get away from the White House staff. Why do you think he lets them push him around despite being President?
