Reports came out that Elon Musk has fathered two twins with Shivon Zillis, a top executive at Neuralink, shortly before fathering his second child with singer Grimes. The news came from Business Insider after they got a hold of Texas court documents showing that Zillis and Musk had filed to have the kids’ names changed to have “their father’s last name.”
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX responded on twitter and confirmed the story. Musk now officially has 9 children: two with Grimes, five with his ex-wife Justine Wilson, and 2 with Mrs. Zillis. One of his children died in 2002.
Musk responded cheekily and changed the discussion on twitter to talking about the “collapsing birth rate.”
“Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far,” said Musk.
Musk says that the United States has a declining birth rate and he posted a graphic showing the U.S. fertility rate. He tweeted about it on May 24 and has pinned the tweet since.
According to the Census, births in the United States have been declining since 2008, except in 2014.
Shivon is Canadian and studied Economics and Philosophy at Yale University. She later worked at Musk’s artificial intelligence company and also worked for Tesla as an AI expert and project director from 2017 to 2019.
When California Assembly member Gonzalez Fletcher wrote “F*ck Elon Musk” on twitter, Zillis responded in defense of Musk.
“This makes me sad. No one’s perfect but I’ve never met anyone who goes through more personal pain to fight for an inspiring future for humanity – and has done so tirelessly for decades. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion but mine is that there’s no one I respect and admire more,” Zillis said.

Elon Musk has continued to speak about his position on having more kids. This is just another example of him putting his money where his mouth is.
