During a speech on Friday, Biden repeated a story about a 10-year-old rape victim who was forced to travel across state lines to get an abortion after. The victim was allegedly living in Ohio when this happened. However, even the Washington Post has called into question the viral story.
“This isn’t some imagined horror; it is already happening. Just last week, it was reported that a 10-year-old girl was a rape victim – 10 years old – and she was forced to have to travel out of state to Indiana to seek to terminate the pregnancy and maybe save her life,” Biden said.
The president gave the remarks at the signing of an executive order, titled the Protecting Access to Reproductive Health Care Services, aiming to protect abortion access to drugs and attorneys so that people can get abortions in states where it has become illegal.
The story was originally published in The Indianapolis Star on July 1rst. The source was an activist, obstetrician-gynecologist named Dr. Caitlin Bernard.
Now, the Washington Post is even labeling the story “very difficult” to verify. Journalist Glenn Kessler was not able to find any other evidence that the story was real besides the single source in the article.
Kessler said that Bernard was the only source of the story and would not provide details to the newspaper about the location of the rape or if there was an ongoing investigation into it.
“The only source cited for the anecdote was Bernard. She’s on the record, but there is no indication that the newspaper made other attempts to confirm her account,” Kessler added.
Physicians and journalists are compelled to disclose to authorities evidence of child abuse. However, there have been no arrests that have been reported from the story. This seems to be a major hole in the story. Ethically, Bernard would have to report the case to authorities, but there is no record of that happening.
Further casting doubt on the story according to the Ohio Governor’s office, they are also “unaware of any specific case that met the claims.”
“This is a very difficult story to check,” Kessler wrote. “Bernard is on the record, but obtaining documents or other confirmation is all but impossible without details that would identify the locality where the rape occurred.”
Trump Cheered On In Vegas with Chants Of “Let’s Go Brandon!”
There are many things working against this case and it shows. It’s even more interesting that the stalwart liberal paper, the Washington Post, has finally decided to do a soft fact-check of Biden. This is the same paper that ran a running tally of how many lies Trump allegedly told during his presidency. They discontinued the program after Biden became President.
Should Biden get kicked off of social media for telling fake news? Where are the screams from progressive that push for truthfulness when it comes to Conservative media, but are noticeably silent when their own tells a potential whopper. Make sure people know the truth about this story being used to push a pro-abortion agenda.
