Retired Lt. General Gary Volesky had his contract suspended and was placed under investigation after he tweeted back mockingly at First Lady Jill Biden.
The incident happened last month on June 24, when Jill Biden tweeted, “For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us. And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not be silent. We will not sit back as the progress we have already won slips away…Tomorrow, we will continue to fight — for our daughters and granddaughters, and for ourselves — until all women can decide our own futures once again.”
Volensky replied saying, “Glad to see you finally know what a woman is.” His tweet is now gone, but we have provided a screenshot below of it.
Volesky was a prominent spokesman for the Army and received a Silver Star for serving in Iraq. Before his contract was suspended, he was working a $92 an-hour consulting contract with the Army as a “mentor.”
The general has cleaned up his twitter account and deleted several tweets since it was discovered by the mainstream press. His most recent tweet is from the Fourth of July when he tweeted a fairly normal independence day tweet.
According to Axios, Volesky previously a response to Wisconsin Rep. Liz Cheney after her announcement that she had joined the January 6th Committee.
On July 1, 2021, Cheney tweeted, “I’m honored to serve on the January 6th select committee. Our oath to the Constitution must be above partisan politics.
Volesky replied under her, “This is all about partisan politics.”

His comment was seen as a breach of decorum for a retired military officer, according to USA Today. He has now lost the contract.
It’s unfortunate that this man lost his job for conveying sentiments that millions of Americans believe. Do you think that he should have had his contract canceled for this? Do you agree with him?
