On Friday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from California went into a strange rant about how Republicans are going to force us into lock downs in a speech about abortion.
Hilariously enough, that’s exactly the type of policies that Democrats used under pandemic guidance to lock down American citizens.
The House was voting on two bills on Friday to attempt to gaurantee abortion access nationwide. It’s their first stab at a legal response to the Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade.
The legislation is expected to fail and does not have the necessary support to get through the senate.
“Just three weeks ago the Supreme Court took a wrecking ball to the fundamental rights by overturning Roe v. Wade,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ahead of the votes, gathering with other Democratic women on the steps of the Capitol. “It is outrageous that 50 years later, women must again fight for our most basic rights against an extremist court.”
One bill prohibits punishing a woman or child that travels to a nearby state to get an abortion. The other one allows abortion access nationwide and would follow the same guidelines that Roe protected.
Republicans opposed the bill. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers called it “the greatest human rights issue of our generation” and said that it “has nothing to do with protecting the health of women.”

She said it’s a Democrat attempt to force “an extreme agenda on the American people.”
It’s ironic that the Democrats are trying to force their agenda on everyone else just as they are saying that Republicans are the tyrants. They lost a case fair and square and they cannot blame Republicans for their inability to pass a bill when they have the majority in Congress and Senate.
