On Wednesday, President Joe Biden emerged from his quarantine and gave his first remarks since testing negative for the virus. He delivered the speech in the Rose Garden at the White House and used the speech to trash former President Donald Trump.
“When my predecessor got Covid, he had to get helicoptered to Walter Reed Medical Center. He was severely ill… When I got Covid I worked from upstairs of the White House… The difference is vaccinations,” said Biden.
Biden noticeably wore sunglasses for most of the speech to hide his eyes from the sun or from the press in case they still looked sick. He also advocated for Americans to start wearing a mask.
“We made high quality masks available for free, so you should consider wearing a mask … [the virus] isn’t gone,” he said.
“You can live without fear by doing what I did — get boosted, get tested and get treatment,” Biden continued.
The president was released by his physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor in a letter released today showing that Biden would stop his “strict isolation measures” after completing his quarantine. He completed his prescribed a regimen of Pfizer’s anti-viral medication Paxlovid, which takes five days.
“His symptoms have been steadily improving, and are almost completely resolved,” O’Connor wrote.
Paxlovid notably has a rebound period where the virus can sometimes spring back after the treatment. The president will wear a mask for 10 days to protect other staff at the White House.
Biden was shown working on video during a discussion about high gas prices. He was shown coughing and reaching for cough drops as his staff briefed him on the high gas prices facing Americans.

It’s good that Biden has recovered. He seemed fairly sick in videos of him working and it would be terrible for this country if he had died while in office, but why trash Trump? He is such a broken record at this point. He’s president now and he can’t continue to blame all his failures on Trump. Doing so is just gaslighting the American public.
