Mayor Eric Adams has been criticized for his recent comments knocking the Midwest, claiming Kansas lacks a brand.
Townhall reports, New York’s “brand” is recognized world-wide, according to the progressive Democrat, after he recently visited Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, where he was recognized because of the city’s “brand.”
In response, Twitter world unleashed on Adams for his comment.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo wrote, “Mayor Adams brand? Crime, Violence, and crushing taxes. Kansas brand? Nation’s breadbasket and aviation capital of the world, all powered by hard-working, decent people who put family, faith, and community first.”
Dr. Roger Marshall tweeted, “Kansas has KS wheat, Jayhawk basketball, KS beef, and the Wizard of Oz. What’s New York Mayor Adams’ brand? Violence, murder, homelessness, and high taxes? I’ll take Kansas any day.”
Tim Young tweeted, “New York’s brand is that it’s a violent shi*hole.”
Kansas’ travel account, TravelKS, also replied to Adams’ comment with a video highlighting the state’s brand.
The account tweeted, “Thanks for unleashing Kansas Twitter upon the world! Truth is, we have a brand, and it’s inspired by our state motto, “Ad astra per aspera,” or ‘To the stars through difficulties.’ Kansans live and breathe this every day, so thanks for the opportunity to share it.”
