As you know, Politico recently outed Jennifer Ruth Green as a sexual assault survivor which has drawn an outpouring of support.

It should come as a shock that a politics in America is a blood sport, but there are always a few topics that are Taboo even when the stakes are high. It is an unspoken rule that you never talk about a candidates family, also you do not bring up any traumatizing events such as being the survivor of sexual assualt.
Fox News writes. After Politico outed Jennifer-Ruth Green as a sexual assault victim, Twitter lit up with support for the GOP midterm candidate running against Frank Mrvan, D-Ind., in Indiana’s 1st Congressional District.
Green was the subject of a wide-ranging profile by Politico correspondent Adam Wren last week, which revealed that she was the victim of a sexual assault while serving as a US Air Force member. Politico published the previously undisclosed details of Green’s assault despite several pleas from Green not to do so.
Watch.
Green wrote on twitter “I’m a survivor of sexual trauma in the military. I am being forced to share this information outside of my own timeline and for the first time publicly because my Congressman, Frank Mrvan, and his cronies illegally obtained my military records describing my sexual assault”
Elise Stefanik came out in support of Green and expressed her disgust for the outing. “The decision by @mrvan4congress to illegally obtain & leak @JenRuthGreen’s military records knowing they would out her as a survivor of sexual assault is not only a shameful new low for politics & the media, it’s a horrific attack on survivors everywhere.”
Morgan Ortagus came out swinging in defense of Green she tweeted “I had to re-read the story a few times, because I was so genuinely shocked by it. No woman should have to disclose and relive details about her sexual assault because the media and a political opponent decided to use it against her.”
Senator Tom Cotton is taking it a few steps further and is going after answers.
Fox news writes.
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., is raising questions about whether the Air Force broke the law by releasing personnel records for a GOP congressional candidate, which outed her as a survivor of sexual assault. According to Politico, a person outside the campaign of Rep. Frank Mrvan, D-Ind., who obtained them via public records request, gave the documents to the outlet. But Cotton says it is illegal for the Air Force to release private personnel records like the ones cited by the Politico story, and he is demanding the Air Force explain how the documents became public.
The recent reveal of Jennifer Ruth Green’s past sexual assault by Politico was a disgraceful move in an already brutal political arena. We can only hope that she will win her seat and take legal action against both the military and news outlet for their actions. If even someone like Tom Cotton is supporting her, we can rest assured that something will be done. The future of America is at stake this November, and it’s up to all of us to make sure we elect leaders who refuse to stoop to such low tactics and truly represent our values. So let’s call our neighbors, rally our friends, and make sure every single person heads to the polls on election day. Together, we can change the course of American history.
