On Sunday, First Lady Jill Biden was booed by the Philadelphia Eagles fans at the team’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. The embarrassing incident occurred when Mrs. Biden was there to promote the White House’s cancer-related initiatives. The response from the notoriously unruly Philadelphia crowds was anything but enthusiastic, with many people jeering and yelling insults at Mrs. Biden. It was a pretty humiliating experience for America’s first lady, and I’m sure she’ll be eager to forget all about it.
FOX reports, During Week 6 of the NFL season, Jill Biden served as an honorary captain for the Philadelphia Eagles, who attempted to stay undefeated against their rivals in the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys.
Biden attended the event to promote the White House’s Cancer Moonshot initiative, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Cancer patients and survivors, as well as their families, joined her on the field.
Fans of the only unbeaten team left in NFL booed and shouted “Let’s go Brandon” at Biden when she stepped onto Lincoln Financial Field.
There were several people in attendance at the Eagles game who tweeted about her apparent loud boos.
As noted by The New York Post, There is a reputation among Philadelphia sports fans for being cantankerous. During halftime of a late-season game in 1968, Eagles fans mercilessly booed and threw snowballs at a man dressed as Santa Claus.
Even President Biden noted the disagreeable nature of Philly fans back in May 2021, saying that “Philadelphia fans are the most informed and most obnoxious fans in the world.”
