It’s official – Rep. Lauren Boebert will be joining conservatives on the House Oversight Committee, joining her colleagues in their pursuit to get to the bottom of issues facing the Biden administration. This includes a look into Biden’s handling of classified documents and conservative efforts to make sure any agendas coming from our nation’s capital does not push Trump’s legacy aside or infringe upon the freedoms we conservatives cherish always.
Liberals are in shock over Rep. Lauren Boebert’s appointment to the House Oversight Committee. Promising to “fix our broken system,” the staunch Republican took her seat in November and is already ready to join the committee in investigations into the Biden administration. Having supported former President Trump’s agenda, Boebert a staunch supporter of conservatives’ values of freedom, economic growth, and an end to rising inflation.
Washington Examiner reports. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), one of the last holdouts in Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) bid for House speaker, was appointed to the House Oversight Committee on Tuesday.
In a tweet the Colorado Congresswoman stated “I’m honored to be joining the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. Chairman @RepJamesComer, let’s get to work!”
She will serve on the panel already investigating the Biden administration after narrowly winning her seat in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District in November. A committee chaired by Rep. James Comer (R-KY) is investigating President Joe Biden’s handling of classified information.
In addition to returning to the House Natural Resources Committee, the Colorado Republican will also serve on the House GOP Steering Committee. Boebert voted “present” after resisting McCarthy’s bid for four days, saying the concessions received from the GOP leader were a “massive victory” for the public.
Leading up to the appointment of Boebert on the house committee, there were some tense negotiations.
Newsweek reports, after rebuking McCarthy in the media and on the House floor more than a dozen times before the 118th Congress, Boebert finally yielded to McCarthy in the days ahead of its start.
Boebert was quoted stating “Let’s stop with the campaign smears and tactics to get people to turn against us, even having my favorite president [Donald Trump] call us and tell us we need to knock this off,”
Boebert continued “I think it actually needs to be reversed—the president needs to tell Representative Kevin McCarthy that ‘sir, you do not have the votes and it’s time to withdraw,'”
After Boebert and other Republican holdouts managed to secure public and private concessions from McCarthy, all of that appears to be water under the bridge.
Rep. Lauren Boebert’s (R-CO) appointment to the powerful House Oversight Committee shows conservatives are determined to fix a broken system, questioning the Biden Administration through investigations and holding it accountable for any misstep. From rolling back certain Trump policies to tackling issues like inflation and the economy, conservatives can now keep a close eye on Biden’s agenda and stand up for freedom in America. By giving conservatives a seat at the table, the new era of U.S politics is set to become more accessible with Boebert having a say among powerful peers.
