Most recently, it was a CNN crew who fell victim to the city’s increasing crimewave when they were robbed.
Conservative brief reports, while reporting on a story about the rampant crime in San Francisco, a CNN reporter and her crew were robbed.
The CNN correspondent tweeted “Got robbed. Again. @jasonkCNN & I were at city hall in San Francisco to do an interview for @CNN. We had security to watch our rental car + crew car. Thieves did this in under 4 seconds. Security stopped the jerks from stealing other bags. But seriously- this is ridiculous”
In a follow up tweet from Kyung she stated “Our hired security guard tried to grab the crooks (I’m glad he didn’t get hurt!) but he got this picture of the getaway car. To the jerks who stole our stuff— I hope someone on this site sees your plate and you get caught”
The CNN reporter even went as far as thanking the police officer who responded stating ”Thank you to @SFPD’s Ofcs Gala & Mac for responding and your kindness.”
That is quite a shock from a CNN reporter, we just wonder if she will have to go to some mandated training following the heartfelt thankyou to the police.
Kyung finished her twitter thread with a statement on San Francisco “San Francisco is a beautiful city. This is our 3rd day here and I’ve loved my time here. But if you do visit this city, know that even with hired security watching your car, it is not enough.”
While San Francisco is one of the most anti-cop cities in America, there is now a movement to bring more police back to the embattled city.
Fox news reports, despite advocating to defund the police in 2020, a San Francisco district supervisor calls for more policing in the crime-ridden city.
Democrat Hillary Ronen represents District 9 on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Her impassioned plea for more police officers in the Mission District, which she represents, was heard during a Budget and Appropriations Committee meeting on Wednesday.
Ronen attacked San Francisco’s police chief for spending a large amount of overtime on an anti-retail theft program instead of prioritizing police presence.
She contradicts her stance on policing in 2020 in her speech. According to Ronen, San Francisco’s police force needs to be reduced “strongly” following the George Floyd protests.
Mayor London Breed redirected $120 million from law enforcement to fund other city initiatives in 2020. Homicides in San Francisco increased by 20% in 2020 over 2019. In 2021, homicides increased 17% over 2020.
The city’s police department was in need of more funds by December 2021, so Breed requested an emergency request to the Board of Supervisors.
In recent years, the San Francisco Police Department has struggled with staffing shortages. In February, officers responded to a burglary more than 15 hours after the 911 call was made.
It is disheartening that a CNN reporter and her crew have become victims of the devastating crime wave caused by the liberal agenda and so-called “pro-criminal” laws. The economy has taken a hit, inflation is soaring and yet it appears as though there is a great lack of police in areas like San Francisco’s Mission District. Hillary Ronen, supervisor for District 9, made an impassioned plea to the Budget and Appropriations Committee meeting in hopes of increasing the police presence in her district; however, it is clear that current policies won’t suffice. Conservatives have long railed against this exceedingly reckless approach to crime prevention – one can only hope change will happen quickly before more innocent people suffer like the unfortunate members of this CNN crew.
