Representative Jerry Nadler (D-NY) has made an alarming statement about the possibility of World War III starting over Ukraine. When asked about Ukraine potentially invading Russia with U.S.-supplied weapons, Nadler said he wouldn’t care if they did. This lack of concern could lead to a U.S.-backed invasion of Russia and escalate tensions even more. In response to Biden’s decision to send American F-16s to Ukraine, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said it involves enormous risks for the West. With the death toll in the war already in the hundreds-of-thousands, escalation could mean more deceased Ukrainians and Russians, or even NATO being dragged into the war. Nadler’s nonchalant attitude shows a lack of statesmanship and could lead to war with a nuclear power.
