Kohl’s, the well-known department store chain, finds itself facing the wrath of concerned parents and conservatives who are prepared to hit the company where it hurts: their profits. Now, the retailer is accused of pushing the LGBT agenda onto its customers, including innocent children.

Undeniably, Kohl’s has aligned itself with the LGBT cause, stating its commitment to “amplifying and affirming the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community” on its website. Its catalog brims with activist apparel, including “Baby Sonoma Community Pride Bodysuit Set” and “TomboyX,” an activist underwear brand. Even their ESG score, which demonstrates their ideological compliance, is a driving factor for the company’s LGBT activism, with Kohl’s ranking in the top 50 on DiversityInc’s Top Companies for LGBTQ Employees.

Other retailers, such as Target and Walmart, also ranked highly on the ESG-linked list, and subsequently faced conservative boycotts. Kohl’s boasts a perfect Corporate Equality Index score from the Human Rights Campaign, reflecting its dedication to the LGBT agenda. Its 2022 ESG report emphasizes a commitment to “diverse communities,” pledging $20 million to causes ranging from racial and gender disparities to the LGBTQIA+ community.

However, Kohl’s may soon feel the consequences of pushing its agenda too far, as conservatives mobilize to boycott or “Bud-light” the company. The boycott of Bud Light over its partnership with a transgender TikToker has already led to a $15.7 billion drop in Anheuser-Busch InBev’s market value. Target, too, experienced a $10 billion loss in market value amid conservative backlash.

The message is clear: conservatives will no longer tolerate businesses that prioritize activism and propaganda over their customers’ values and needs. The tides are turning, and companies like Kohl’s, Target, and Bud Light must react or risk a painful financial lesson.
