**More political manipulation by the Department of Justice – targeting conservatives continues unabated**
In another example of unscrupulous political tactics, the Biden Department of Justice targeted West Virginia Republican Governor Jim Justice, who recently announced his bid for the US Senate. Clearly, the Department of Justice demonstrates no qualms in meddling in the electoral process and undermining conservative candidates, a disturbing trend that shows no signs of stopping.
Governor Justice’s announcement of his run received significant support from the National Republican Senatorial Committee and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. The West Virginia Governor is set to go head to head against State Representative Alex Mooney in the GOP primary, with Mooney receiving endorsements from Senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. Both candidates offer contrasting positions, as Gov. Justice previously served as a Democrat before swapping sides.
With an impressive 22-point lead against Democrat Joe Manchin and a notable dossier of achievements under his belt, Governor Justice seemed poised for success. However, this remarkable position did not discourage the Department of Justice from throwing a wrench into his campaign. In a targeted move, the Biden DOJ filed criminal charges against Governor Justice’s son, James C. Justice III.
According to the lawsuit, James C. Justice III’s coal companies were accused of breaking the law by violating their legal obligations under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977. Assistant Attorney General Todd Kim of the DOJ’s Environment and Natural Resources Division claims that “our environmental laws serve to protect communities against adverse effects of industrial activities including surface coal mining operations.”
