Liberal pundits viciously attacking conservatives are nothing new, but recent tirades by MSNBC host Joy Reid and The View’s Joy Behar have taken hate-mongering to new levels. They join former congressman David Jolly in a vitriolic coalition targeting prominent conservative figures like Ron DeSantis, causing conservatives to take a step back and reevaluate.
Reid, in a recent appearance on MSNBC, referred to DeSantis as a “toy-sized Mussolini” who desires to “destroy leftism and wokeism.” Reid goes on to claim that DeSantis aims to limit artistic freedom of speech and wield the federal government against businesses that displease him. The View’s Joy Behar took it to an extreme, insinuating that American conservatives would support executing homosexuals, comparing the US to countries like Uganda and Russia.
David Jolly, a former congressman who lost to DeSantis by a significant margin, also took shots at both DeSantis and his wife. Labeling DeSantis as a “very dark figure” who is “far more dangerous” than Trump, Jolly suggests DeSantis aims to drag the US back 100 years. These attacks, led by Reid, Behar, and Jolly, paint DeSantis as a would-be totalitarian dictator, a dangerous message for the public.
These liberal pundits utilize television as their platform to raise fear and panic over conservatives. Instead of delivering news, they resort to smear tactics to reinforce their narrative. So-called “independent fact checkers” do nothing to hold them accountable, allowing the misinformation to run rampant.
Viewers deserve better than this mudslinging competition led by the likes of Reid, Behar, and Jolly. It’s time for them to return to professionalism and end the fear-mongering, and for the public to demand accountability from the media.
