Stone allegedly beat Schaefer’s 5-year-old son for wetting the bed, which resulted in a skull fracture. This particular incident was captured on home surveillance footage, leading to a charge of aggravated child abuse filed against Stone.
Recently, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office announced that 25 charges have been filed against Schaefer, alleging her complicity in the abuse by consistently witnessing it but failing to report or intervene. Stone faces an additional 23 charges, according to the Daytona Beach News Journal. Schaefer is accused of neglecting her children and failing to provide medical attention, while Stone allegedly tied the 5-year-old’s hands behind his back for an entire day, among other abuses.
