The San Francisco Chronicle has reported that since the decision was made, there has been a significant decrease in the frequency of robberies. This year alone, 137 commercial burglaries have been reported in Oakland’s “Police Area 2,” almost triple the number reported in 2021. The losses not only affect small business owners’ finances but also have implications for Oakland’s local economy. The city authorities must put more urgent measures in place to protect the livelihoods of its residents.

President Joe Biden’s response to questions regarding tapes that allegedly prove his involvement in a bribery deal with a Ukrainian businessman is raising suspicions. Biden was asked by a reporter whether the tapes were authentic, and he stopped, smiled and chuckled before walking away without responding. According to an anonymous source, the tapes contain 17 audio recordings of Biden and his son Hunter accepting bribes. The President’s nonchalant behavior came only a week after he dismissed previous claims of wrongdoing. The allegations against Biden and his son stem from their dealings in Ukraine, with Hunter serving on the board of a Ukrainian energy company while his father was Vice President. The allegations must be thoroughly investigated.

A former manager of Harvard Medical School’s morgue and his wife have been indicted for orchestrating a criminal plot involving stolen human remains. The trail dates back to 2018 and spans states, involving six individuals. Cedric Lodge allowed buyers to select the remains they desired, he himself engaging in the theft of brains, skin, and bones from donated cadavers. The remains were taken to Lodge’s residence and later shipped via mail. One accomplice paid for two desiccated human faces, while another reportedly purchased the remains of two stillborn babies. If convicted, the accused could face up to 15 years in prison for trafficking human remains. Harvard Medical School has pledged to support affected families.
