In a shocking turn of events, a Chicago television news crew investigating a spate of robberies in the city became the latest victims of violent crime. However, this incident is not just another statistic in Chicago’s crime epidemic, but rather a stark example of the failure of the policies on crime and law enforcement of the Biden administration and other Democrat leaders.

The Univision Chicago crew were filming at 5AM in the West Town neighborhood when they were ambushed by three armed men wearing ski masks. The attackers stole their television cameras and other personal items. This brazen attack took place in spite of the ongoing presence of law enforcement agencies in the area, highlighting the ineffectiveness of President Biden’s approach to criminal justice.

Luis Godinez, vice president of news at Univision Chicago, confirmed that the victims of the attack were unharmed, but the stolen camera contained crucial footage for their morning news segment. It is alarming that criminals are now targeting members of the press, and this incident is just the latest in a series of attacks on journalists in the United States.

According to ABC/AP, the suspects fled the scene in a gray sedan and black SUV, and they are still at large. This highlights the lack of progress made by the Biden administration in tackling the ongoing crime wave in Chicago and other metropolitan areas across the country. Despite promises from the White House to take strong action against violent crime, the situation on the ground remains dire.

This is not the first time that members of the press have been targeted by criminals in Chicago. Earlier this month, a WLS-TV photographer was robbed and assaulted while preparing to cover a story in the West Side of the city. The National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians Local 41 has issued a warning about growing safety threats to those in the field covering the news.

Chicago is just one example of the broader crisis in law and order that is engulfing the United States under the Biden administration. It is time for President Biden to take bold, decisive action to restore safety and security to our communities. Americans expect and deserve a President who will prioritize the rule of law and protect the rights of law-abiding citizens, not one who turns a blind eye to violent crime and panders to the radical left.
