Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is attempting to extort the United States and Europe into coughing up millions of dollars in additional aid money before scheduling democratic elections in his country, according to GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The presidential hopeful has issued a withering statement condemning Zelenskyy’s veiled threat to forgo democratic elections in Ukraine and expose his country as being a sham democracy until financial assistance is forthcoming from American taxpayers and European nations.
Zelensky’s veiled threat to forgo democratic elections in Ukraine unless the American people foot the bill and cough up another $135 million in funding represents a new level of extortion of the United States. Our nation is being duped by a leader in Ukraine willing to sacrifice…

Ramaswamy warns that Zelenskyy is not the beacon of democratic leadership that the mainstream media has made him out to be. He has added insult to injury by banning 11 opposition parties in Ukraine and consolidating all the state media into a single entity, says the presidential candidate. These moves bear a striking resemblance to the tactics employed by Vladimir Putin, which have rightly been called out by the West as authoritarian and unacceptable.
Furthermore, Ramaswamy has pointed out that the US has already provided Ukraine with over $135 billion in funding, which should be more than enough to cover the cost of scheduled elections. The GOP presidential candidate is scathing about the mainstream media and the establishment’s claims that any money the US sends to Ukraine is strictly itemized and audited, so it cannot be diverted for purposes other than for which it was intended. Ramaswamy dismisses such claims as deeply dishonest and points out that the Pentagon itself recently discovered an accounting error that created a $6.2 billion surplus for Ukraine, without the approval of Congress.
Given this evidence of corruption and deceit, Ramaswamy makes the case that the Ukrainian President is cynically manipulating the US for more money to pay for a scheduled election rather than using existing funds already allocated by the international community. American taxpayers deserve the truth and should not be drawn into an escalating financial quagmire that could see millions poured into Ukraine without any clear indication of what that money will be used for.
Overall, Vivek Ramaswamy’s cautionary tale is a wakeup call for all Americans to be more vigilant and to demand greater transparency when it comes to aid money pouring into Ukraine. It’s time for the US to be Uncle Sucker no more and demand that funds are properly utilized, with full public accountability and transparency, in Ukraine and other similarly financially corrupt nations.
