Hunter Biden has once again made headlines with a federal lawsuit against the IRS agents who exposed his tax evasion scheme. Hunter alleges that Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley and another agent, Joseph Ziegler, sought to embarrass him by publicly disclosing confidential information about his private tax matters. However, Shapley’s legal team has issued a statement labeling the lawsuit as a “frivolous smear” to divert attention from Hunter’s costly legal problems.

Hunter Biden’s tax investigation began in 2018, and he was supposed to have been sentenced in July of this year after agreeing to plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts relating to tax evasion. This was a small price to pay compared to the three felony counts he’s now facing for illegal possession of a firearm. But Biden’s plea deal fell apart after a federal court judge in Delaware expressed concerns about the terms of the bargain.
The investigation into Hunter’s tax evasion practices uncovered some unsettling information about his financial matters. Whistleblowers Shapley and Ziegler stepped forward, testifying in front of the House Oversight Committee. According to Just the News, they publicly revealed details about Hunter’s private tax matters. Hunter alleges that Shapley and Ziegler’s disclosures caused embarrassment to him and his family.

Hunter’s lawsuit against Shapley is not only frivolous but ironic. The president’s son is attempting to shield himself from the very same scrutiny that his father’s administration has directed at conservative-leaning personalities for years. The very fact that Hunter attempted to avoid taxes not only reflects badly on him but also on the Biden family.
Shapley’s legal team has rightly pointed out that they never released any confidential taxpayer information outside authorized disclosures by statute. They’ve taken the stand that once Congress released that testimony, like every American citizen, they have a right to discuss that public information. It is not surprising that Hunter’s attorneys are attempting to deflect attention from their client’s misconduct and attempting to intimidate other whistleblowers from coming forward.
It is a shame that the Biden family’s political clout allowed them to make a deal with the scandalous DOJ, which attempted to sweep Hunter’s financial misconduct under the rug. Such actions by Hunter and his family members are unacceptable and show the Biden family’s true colors. By targeting whistleblowers such as Shapley, Hunter is attempting to deflect from the damage his and his family’s actions have wrought upon the nation.
