The liberal left’s latest talking point is promoting the idea that having fewer children is good for the planet. However, this is just another attempt to push their radical environmentalist agenda onto the American people. According to a recent Pew Research Center survey, 55 percent of Democrats claim that people having fewer children has a “positive impact” on the environment. This view is not shared by Republicans, with only 28 percent agreeing with this fallacy. Additionally, 47 percent of respondents believe that having fewer children has neither a positive nor negative impact on the environment.
The finding is not shocking given that 78% of Dem/Lean Dem voters believe "global climate change is a major threat to the country." pic.twitter.com/NCF2QEpgwi

The Democrats’ preoccupation with climate change hysteria is evident in their overwhelming belief, at 78 percent, that “global climate change is a major threat to the country.” However, only 23 percent of Republicans feel the same way, consistent with their views from a decade ago. Currently, 54 percent of U.S. adults see climate change as a threat. It appears that Democrats are obsessed with the notion that overpopulation creates environmental problems.
Moreover, climate scientists make outrageous claims such as humans contribute to climate change, and a growing population only exacerbates the issue. The Newsweek article titled, “Humans Face Major Population ‘Correction’ This Century, Scientist Warns,” alleges that climate change is merely one symptom of overpopulation, along with excessive waste and nutrient build-up. Population ecologist, William Rees, contends that humanity has exceeded the earth’s “carrying capacity,” which purports that the earth cannot sustain a large number of individuals without destroying or degrading the environment.
In 2022, the world population hit eight billion, and the U.N. predicts that by the mid-century, it will surge to 9.7 billion. Such estimates are unsettling, and U.S. climate envoy John Kerry is already despairing of the supposedly “unsustainable” population growth. The decline in birth rates over the past five decades is cause for alarm, with scientific American warning of an increase in gender equality as a result. In May of this year, the left-leaning science magazine reported that lower fertility rates “helps reduce carbon emissions,” which is another way of saying that they are pushing an agenda that prioritizes climate change over the sanctity of life and the family unit.
Meanwhile, birth rates have been plummeting for five decades for a variety of reasons. The decline is occurring as climate alarmists warn of "overpopulation" and how it purportedly contributes to climate change.

The latest Pew Research survey also indicates that 53 percent of Democrats believe having fewer children positively affects “women’s careers or job opportunities.” This statement is another example of their dogmatic environmentalism. Despite their refusal to acknowledge it, having children is a natural and beautiful part of life, and families are the backbone of our society. Conservatives must reject the left’s extreme climate change dogma and instead champion traditional family values that have been the hallmark of our society for generations.
