When liberal media feeds off chaos, the co-hosts of ABC’s ‘The View’ never disappoint, as proven again last Friday. Rather famously racist and anti-Semitic, Sunny Hostin, whose lineage lies in slave ownership, came out guns blazing, insisting that black Republicans were as real as unicorns — non-existent. Her accomplices in crime were her liberal co-hosts, who spoke rudely to none other than black Republican Congressman Byron Donalds.
Donalds, who was discussing the plight of black families and the destructive liberal government policies, aroused ire when his conversation was clipped and wrongly positioned as romanticizing Jim Crow. Hostin casually dismissed the ideas of the black Republican constituency, an odious claim in itself. Citing favorable statistics for the Democratic Party, she questioned the existence of black Republicans. One cannot ignore the historical irony that she and her ancestors held black people as property and now figuratively wanted them locked into the Democratic Party.
Her disconcerting mockery did not ignite spontaneously. It was Joy Behar, the infamous white liberal, who opened the pitch and questioned Donalds’ intelligence. In fact, her skepticism of a black man’s intellect was a disturbing pattern throughout the segment. Alongside her was Sara Haines, dubbed as the false-independent, who extended similar disgraceful sentiments towards Donalds. A year ago, Behar had shamelessly belittled Senator Tim Scott and Justice Clarence Thomas, accusing them of knowing nothing about the black experience in America.
Haines, joining the fray, sermonized patronizingly that Donalds and his audience needed to revisit their history lessons. She implied an almost laughable assertion that the clip was misunderstood and everyone present was oblivious of the historical context. Instead of standing up to this incredulous audacity, Alyssa Farah Griffin, our wishy-washy co-host, decided to batter Donalds further due to his support of the ex-President. She dimissed his serious political vocation as him trying to be Trump’s running mate.
The troubling narrative presented by these co-hosts is not new or surprising. Such instances of unfounded bias, grossly disrespectful labeling, and disregard for facts is an ABC production staple. It lays bare the prejudice and animosity harbored toward black Republicans and their audacity to be independent thinkers.
The hostility these ‘liberals’ demonstrate reflects their disdain for anyone who does not toe their ideological line. Distorted facts, baseless accusation, derogatory language, condescension, pronounced prejudice, and blatant lack of respect for diversity of opinions paint a clear picture of their faux progressiveness. They operate within their echo chambers, amplifying their narratives, and discrediting those who desire open, honest, and constructive debate.
