Another spoiled American athlete has decided to bite the hand that feeds him. Freestyle skier Hunter Hess, who should be honored to represent the greatest nation on Earth, instead chose to trash America on the world stage because he doesn't like President Trump cleaning up Joe Biden's immigration disaster.
Hess whined that it was "a little hard" to be the face of America because of Trump's perfectly reasonable efforts to deport the millions of illegal aliens that Biden welcomed with open arms. Apparently, this privileged athlete thinks enforcing our immigration laws is somehow embarrassing.
Here's a reality check for Hess: America didn't become great by ignoring its laws. The very freedoms and opportunities that allowed him to become an Olympic-level athlete exist because we are a nation of laws, not a free-for-all where anyone can waltz across our border.
Trump's Response Brings the Heat
President Trump, never one to let anti-American rhetoric slide, delivered some much-needed perspective to the ungrateful skier. While the specifics of Trump's response weren't immediately available, Patriots know our President doesn't tolerate athletes who use their platform to attack the very country that made their success possible.
This is the same tired playbook we've seen from Colin Kaepernick to Megan Rapinoe - privileged athletes who've benefited enormously from American opportunity, then turn around and lecture the rest of us about how terrible our country supposedly is.
"It's a little hard to be the face of his nation," Hess complained, apparently unaware that millions of people around the world would give anything for the privilege he's spitting on.
What's truly hard is watching entitled athletes represent America while actively undermining it. If Hess finds it so difficult to represent this great nation, perhaps he should consider skiing for a country more aligned with his open-borders worldview.
The American people deserve Olympic representatives who are proud to wear the red, white, and blue - not activists who see the world stage as their personal political soapbox. President Trump is simply doing what every American president should do: putting America first and enforcing our laws.
Maybe it's time our Olympic committee started selecting athletes based not just on their athletic ability, but on their love for the country they claim to represent.
