The Biden administration's gun control failures have come back to haunt America once again. The Justice Department charged Kenya Chapman on Friday for allegedly selling a firearm to 36-year-old Mohamed Bailor Jalloh - a convicted felon who was legally prohibited from owning guns - who then used that weapon in the tragic Old Dominion University shooting.

This bombshell arrest exposes the glaring hypocrisy of Democrats who spend every waking moment screaming about "gun control" while their own federal agencies fail to enforce existing laws that could have prevented this tragedy.

Chapman allegedly knew full well that Jalloh was a prohibited person under federal law, yet chose to sell him the deadly weapon anyway. This is exactly the kind of criminal behavior that existing gun laws are designed to prevent - if only the government would actually enforce them instead of grandstanding about new restrictions on law-abiding Americans.

Another Preventable Tragedy

How many more innocent Americans have to die because federal law enforcement can't do their basic job? While the previous administration wasted four years demonizing legal gun owners and pushing unconstitutional gun grabs, criminals like Chapman were operating in the shadows, arming dangerous felons.

The timing of this arrest is telling. It took the Trump administration's renewed focus on actually prosecuting gun crimes to bring Chapman to justice. Under the Biden regime's catch-and-release mentality, who knows how many other illegal gun dealers were allowed to operate with impunity?

"This case proves that we don't need more gun laws - we need to enforce the ones we already have," said one Second Amendment advocate.

Patriots have been saying this for years: the problem isn't legal gun ownership by responsible Americans. The problem is criminals who ignore the law and a justice system that fails to stop them before they strike.

President Trump's tough-on-crime approach is already showing results. But how many more Chapman-style gunrunners are still out there, waiting to arm the next felon who wants to commit mass violence? The American people deserve answers.

What was this felon's previous conviction? The article doesn't specify but I'm curious if there were warning signs that the system missed when he was released.

Good question - seems like important context that should have been included in the reporting.

This is exactly why we need to enforce existing gun laws instead of creating new ones that only hurt law-abiding citizens. The criminal got the weapon illegally - no amount of new legislation would have stopped this.

100% agree. Criminals don't follow laws by definition - that's what makes them criminals!

I worked in law enforcement for 30 years and saw this pattern over and over. The real problem is these illegal dealers who prey on desperate people and flood our streets with weapons. Throw the book at this gunrunner.
