A bombshell Washington Post investigation has blown the lid off the electric vehicle industry's dirty secret: Chinese automaker BYD has been caught red-handed operating what investigators describe as a "slavery-like" forced labor scheme at its Brazilian manufacturing plant.
This is the real cost of the left's environmental virtue signaling, folks. While Democrats spent years ramming electric vehicles down Americans' throats and handing out billions in taxpayer-funded subsidies to foreign companies, workers were being systematically exploited and trafficked.
The specialized task force's findings read like something out of a human trafficking manual. The scheme "began in China, where job postings and foremen issued false promises of good pay — usually more than $1,700 per month — often without committing them to writing."
But here's where it gets truly sinister: once these desperate workers reached the Brazilian border, they discovered the promises were lies. Instead of decent wages and working conditions, they found themselves trapped in what can only be described as modern-day slavery.
The Green Energy Scam Exposed
This scandal perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with the globalist green energy push. While environmental extremists lecture hardworking Americans about their carbon footprints, they're perfectly happy to look the other way when foreign companies exploit vulnerable workers to build their precious EVs.
"This is the price of environmentalism when you hand control over to Communist China and their corporate allies," one industry insider told investigators.
BYD isn't just some small player either – this is one of the world's largest EV manufacturers, backed by billions in Chinese government funding. And guess what? American taxpayers have been subsidizing these very same companies through Biden's disastrous green energy policies.
President Trump's America First energy policy is looking better every day. While the left chased their climate change fairy tales, they created a system that enriches Chinese Communist Party-linked corporations at the expense of both American workers AND exploited foreign laborers.
The question every American should be asking: how many more of these "green energy" companies are built on the backs of slave labor? And why did the previous administration turn a blind eye to these obvious red flags?
