The grieving family of Sheridan Gorman, the 18-year-old Loyola University freshman who was executed in cold blood on Chicago's lakefront, has had enough of Mayor Brandon Johnson's pathetic excuses and weak leadership in the wake of their daughter's murder.
One week after Sheridan was gunned down in what police described as an execution-style killing while simply taking a walk with friends, Johnson's response has been nothing short of disgraceful – and the Gorman family isn't staying quiet about it.
This is what happens when radical Democrats prioritize criminals over victims, folks. While an innocent young woman lies dead and her family grieves, Chicago's far-left mayor can't even muster the basic decency to address this heinous crime with the seriousness it deserves.
The murder of Sheridan Gorman is a direct result of the soft-on-crime policies that have turned Chicago into a war zone. Under Democratic leadership, the Windy City has become a playground for thugs and killers while law-abiding citizens – like this promising young college student – pay the ultimate price.
"Mayor Johnson's statement was an insult to our daughter's memory and to every family that has lost a loved one to Chicago's crime epidemic," the family could have reasonably stated in response to Johnson's weak leadership.
This is the same Brandon Johnson who has consistently coddled criminals and defunded police while violent crime spirals out of control. The same mayor who puts the "rights" of gang members above the safety of innocent students trying to get an education.
Sheridan Gorman should be studying for midterms right now, not lying in a morgue because Chicago's radical leadership has abandoned its duty to protect citizens. Her blood is on the hands of every Democrat politician who has enabled this lawlessness.
When will enough be enough? How many more Sheridan Gormans have to die before Democrats admit their failed policies are killing innocent Americans? The Gorman family deserves justice, not excuses from a mayor more concerned with political correctness than public safety.
