CIA Drone Kills Top Al Qaeda Leader With $25 Million Bounty On His Head

With everything else that’s going on in the world lately, there’s not been much news about terrorist organizations. They are still out there, however, but now there is one less leader to worry about, as the CIA just took out one of al Qaeda’s top leaders and bin Laden’s number two man.

Joe Biden will address the nation tonight at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time, even with his second go-around with covid-19. He wants to tell the nation about a successful counterterrorism operation that just took place.

A U.S. strike this weekend in Afghanistan killed top leader Ayman al-Zawahri, reports the AP. Biden wanted to wait to announce the successful mission until al-Zawahri’s death was confirmed.

“Over the weekend, the United States conducted a counterterrorism operation against a significant Al Qaeda target in Afghanistan. The operation was successful and there were no civilian casualties,’ a senior administration official said.

Ayman al-Zawahri has been a wanted man by the United States government essentially since 911.

al-Zawahri released video in 2021 celebrating 911 attack

Al-Zawahiri last appeared in a video last year marking the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, months after rumors spread that he was dead. In that video, he proclaimed “Jerusalem will never be Judaized” and praised al-Qaeda attacks – including one that targeted Russian troops in Syria in January 2021. SITE said al-Zawahiri also noted the US military’s withdrawal from Afghanistan 20 years after the invasion.

In a statement, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that a strike took place and strongly condemned it, calling it a violation of “international principles.”

Last year, during Biden’s botched withdrawal of the U.S. military from Afghanistan, he said the U.S. would continue its fight against terrorism. “We have what’s called over-the-horizon capabilities, which means we can strike terrorists and targets without American boots on the ground — or very few if needed,” he said.

Again, as we’ve said before here at Next News Network, even a broken clock is right twice a day. The military, while Biden is POTUS, got a terrorist that the U.S. has been trying to get for over 20 years. And the bigger question is, why were terrorists in Afghanistan anyway? Better soak this one up while you can, Mr. President, because everything else has gone wrong and Americans are feeling it. Will Biden take all the credit?
