One man who was prosecuted for his part in the January 6 riots has been sentenced to seven years in prison. While it was his son who turned the man in, it is his daughters who are now speaking out, and they are not happy with Trump.

Business Insider reports:

The daughter of a man sentenced to seven years in prison on Monday for taking part in the January 6, 2021, insurrection told reporters former President Donald Trump, whose supporters stormed the US Capitol, deserved to spend the rest of his life behind bars in light of her father’s sentence.

Guy Reffitt, who was reported to authorities by his teenage son, was the first person to be convicted at trial for taking part in the riot.

His seven-year sentence is the longest yet received by a January 6 rioter. At least 884 people have been charged in connection with the violent effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

After Reffitt was sentenced, his daughters spoke with the media and said it wasn’t fair for their father to receive such a long prison term while more powerful people remained free.

“To mark my dad as this horrible person, and then having him prosecuted like this, when somebody is maybe even able to get elected again? Doesn’t seem right to me,” Sarah Reffitt told reporters.

“Trump deserves life in prison if my father is in prison for this long,” Peyton Reffitt added.

Mr. Reffitt’s daughters blame Donald Trump for their father being at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. They don’t think it’s fair that their father now has to spend close to a decade in prison while Donald Trump could be POTUS again. Do they have a point?
