Once again, Mitt Romney is proving that he’s no friend to conservatives or to former President Donald Trump. With the revelation that Trump has been issued a target letter related to the January 6 investigation, many have come out to condemn the weaponization of the government against political opponents.
Romney added that, "anytime a a person is indicted they they accused the Justice Department of being unfair." ⁰
He said that one of the challenges in the country is the "diminution of institutions in which we rely as a society."— Manu Raju (@mkraju) July 18, 2023
But not Romney. No, he’s more concerned with towing the Democrat line and talking about the need for “confidence in the justice system.” What a load of garbage. The DOJ has lost the confidence of the people, and the way they’ve gone after Trump is just the latest example.
Polling shows that the American people believe these charges are politically motivated, and it’s clear that the DOJ is willing to go after anyone who disagrees with their agenda.
"A democracy works and we have confidence in the justice system and the legal system in our prosecutors and so forth," he said. "If we constantly attack and diminish them that weakens our democracy,” he said

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has pointed out the obvious; that Trump’s rising poll numbers are just too much for the Democrats to handle. So what do they do? Weaponize the government and go after their number one opponent. It’s disgusting and it’s wrong.

Romney, of course, is no stranger to going against Trump and conservatives. He was one of the seven Republicans to vote to convict Trump in his second impeachment, long after he had left office. And let’s not forget that he was the first senator to vote to convict a president of his own party during the first impeachment trial in 2020.
Now, he’s facing a tough reelection battle, and it’s clear that he’s lost touch with the people of Utah. Mayor Trent Staggs has already announced his candidacy, and Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson has raised a record $2.2 million in his first three months.
It’s time for conservatives to stand up and say enough is enough. We can’t let Romney and his ilk continue to undermine our values and our political process. So let’s send a message loud and clear; we won’t stand for this anymore.
