Meta’s platform, Threads, touted as a Twitter alternative, is facing a 70% decline in daily active users. Launched with much anticipation, Threads initially saw a surge of 100 million sign-ups, leading many to believe it could compete with Twitter. However, user engagement plummeted soon after, with daily active users dropping from 44 million to just 13 million in mere weeks. Also, the average daily time spent on Threads fell from 19 minutes to only four. In response to this significant setback, Meta is planning to introduce new features, hoping to enhance the user experience and improve engagement. Despite these struggles, CEO Mark Zuckerberg remains hopeful about the platform’s potential.
