Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw speaks out against anti-Christian group’s involvement in LGBTQ Pride Night, while the team schedules a Christian Faith and Family Day in response.

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw recently explained his opposition to the team honoring a group known for mocking Christianity, particularly Catholicism, during their LGBTQ Pride Night. Kershaw, an outspoken Christian, told the Los Angeles Times that he disapproved of the decision and revealed that the Dodgers had scheduled a “Christian Faith and Family Day” as a way to address the situation.

The group in question, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, initially had their invitation to participate in the event revoked due to significant backlash, but was later reinvited following outrage from LGBTQ activists and groups. This has led some conservative critics to call for a boycott of the Dodgers.

Kershaw stated that he objected to the group’s involvement due to its mockery of Christianity. He asserted, “No matter what religion you are, you should not make fun of somebody else’s religion.” Though he disagrees with the Dodgers’ decision, Kershaw does not plan to boycott the Pride Night, scheduled for June 16.

Instead, Kershaw and those close to him have chosen a different response: “We felt like the best thing to do…would be just to instead try to show what we do support, as opposed to maybe what we don’t – and that was Jesus. So, to make Christian Faith Day our response is what we felt like was the best decision.”

The award-winning Kershaw and his wife have dedicated themselves to building an orphanage in Zambia, as part of a Christian missionary effort.

In the face of the Dodgers’ controversial decision to honor an anti-Christian group during Pride Night, Clayton Kershaw remains steadfast, focusing on promoting and celebrating his faith through the team’s Christian Faith Day.
