Settle in folks, we’re unpacking the latest absurdity pushed by the mainstream media – an upside-down flag at Justice Samuel Alito’s house. Yes, you read that right. It seems The New York Times has decided that this peculiar flag-flying incident overshadows real news from a few years ago where a man actually plotted to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Oddly enough, nothing at the time from the NewsHour on that one.

Apparently, the media’s favourite distraction – the Pelosi-picked January 6 Committee – doesn’t provide enough fodder, so they’re turning to symbolic flag flying. This Alito story just echoes the same January 6 narrative we’ve heard over and over.

Let’s look at what PBS commentator Capehart has to say this time: According to him, the upside-down flag displays an outrageous aggression, coming from a sitting Supreme Court Justice. On top of that, he’s condemning the explanation that Justice Alito’s wife was the one who inverted the flag, and not the Justice himself. This seemed to open an avenue for Capehart to chip away at the Court’s integrity.

His opinion doesn’t just stop there. Capehart, along with many of their media colleagues, continues to drive wedges in the public’s trust towards the Supreme Court, presumably because their political ideologues don’t currently control it.

Surprisingly, a conservative viewpoint enters the chat when Eliana Johnson, an editor from Washington Free Beacon, substitutes for David Brooks. She commendably points out that it’s incorrect to equate a woman’s thoughts and actions to her husband’s. So contrary to Capehart, Johnson defended that Justice Alito’s wife is entitled to her own actions and opinions.

Capehart, however, wasn’t deterred and came out with a tired argument: If Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg or Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, both predictable liberal votes, had an inverted flag at their premises, they would have been crucified. It’s an intriguing twist, to equate the two situations.

Ironically, Capehart isn’t hesitant to throw veiled jabs at President Trump, questioning his intentions with the upcoming debates. Yet, he wastes no opportunity to undermine Trump, whom he claims as someone who enjoys belittling others.

With all this, it’s clear: the mainstream media, once again, sets a biased narrative against conservatives and anything that differs from their worldview. We need to remain vigilant, view these narratives with a discerning eye, and remember that every story has two sides. It’s our responsibility to ensure we’re not swayed by bias but to make judgments of our own.
