This morning, the liberal media continues to twist anything and everything into a January 6 “symbol”. Their most recent attempt is a feeble one, aiming to besmirch respected Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and dictate upcoming rulings linked to former President Trump. ABC, CBS, and NBC spearheaded this grim endeavour, birthing a conspiracy theory to press for Justice Alito’s recusal based on a deployed flag at his vacation home.

These networks banked on a New York Times report noting that Alito’s holiday residence proudly hoists the “Appeal to Heaven” flag, an emblem stemming from the Revolutionary War. Its sighting during the Capitol riot has mistaken it as a rallying symbol for supposed ‘insurrectionists’. As predictable as ever, the media have latched onto this emblem as fodder for undermining Alito.

NBC Today’s host, Savannah Guthrie, blatantly revealed the bias in her preamble, insisting that “calls are growing louder” for Alito to step back from January 6-related cases. Such assertions originate from a duplicated flag being displayed. Senior correspondent Hallie Jackson echoed popular leftist sentiment, implying an ‘ethical misconduct’ with Senator Dick Durban’s words.

But here’s a reality check: the ‘insurrectionist’ Appeal to Heaven flag also decorates the desk of Ron Swanson, a libertarian character in NBC’s Parks and Recreation. Certainly, Swanson is not a “Christian nationalist.”

ABC’s Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos, a former Clinton crony, falsely insinuated that the flags align only with the rioters. He pointed to The New York Times published pictures of the disputed flag at Alito’s summer home. He conveniently sidelined the flag’s abundant history before January 6: this is a symbol rooted in our nation’s revolution and has even flown on warships under George Washington.

CBS Mornings, with co-host and Democratic donor Gayle King, also chimed in with their intention to pile on the baseless accusations. They highlighted The New York Times report noting another flag used by January 6th protestors flying at Alito’s vacation home. Yet, Scott MacFarlane – their own correspondent – inadvertently underscored how much of a non-issue it was when mentioning that the Appeal to Heaven flag also hangs outside the office of Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson.

If this flag is indeed a resolute “symbol” of the “insurrection,” why did it only get attention now? Why didn’t the other networks mention it? It begs the question: are they merely swinging blindly?

In conclusion, it is essential to remember that the flag flown most commonly at the Capitol was the American flag. The liberal media is quick to twist symbols and ignore critical context in their bid to manipulate opinion, but will they condemn our national flag next? Let’s not give ground to such ill-informed allegations and defend our country’s symbols from being hijacked by a biased narrative.
