The leftist media really had a field day with Donald Trump’s conviction, didn’t they? Their joy from Trump’s conviction was practically bouncing off the walls with happiness while they pretended to be heartfelt about the so-called saving of the “Republic”.
George Stephanopoulos of ABC was doing his best to mask his jubilation by dropping hefty John Adams quotes and referring to the trial as democracy’s “ultimate stress test”. He even took the liberty to suggest his audience support President Biden instead, using the possibility of being represented by a convicted felon to spur fear.
The leftist media kept the party going, inviting their favorite presidential historians to celebrate the verdict and discuss the doomsday scenario of a Trump victory. Douglas Brinkley on CBS’s Sunday Morning saw the verdict as America rebranding itself as a republic, while Michael Beschloss on MSNBC warned that Trump’s win could open the door for a dictatorship.
Even The View couldn’t keep their happiness under wraps. Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin were positively glowing with what they considered to be a victory for America.
Celebrities also joined in, Robert De Niro took a step further with a dramatic press conference proclaiming democracy would disappear under a Trump administration.
Here we were, witnessing a parade of leftist journalists, pundits, and celebrities, celebrating Trump’s conviction like it was a national holiday. Stephanopoulos, in particular, seemed to be on repeat, hammering the point of Trump being a convicted felon and subtly pushing his audience towards Biden.
Douglas Brinkley saw Trump’s guilt as America being reborn, and Beschloss though another Trump victory would mean the end of America as we know it. All these comments amounted to fear-mongering based on extreme hypotheticals and biases.
Left-wing commentators didn’t stop there. They jumped on every opportunity to brand Trump supporters as sellouts, equated Trump’s campaign symbol with hate symbols, and even warned against re-electing Trump, painting him as a dictator in waiting. The American people sure deserve better than this constant negativity being passed off as analysis.
In conclusion, the reactions of leftist celebrities, journalists, and pundits following Trump’s conviction leave no doubts about their biased attitudes. Their sheer joy under the guise of saving the “Republic” and pandering to fear of Trump is more indicative of their personal biases than a fair analysis of the events. The American public deserves more composed, neutral, and factual discourse, rather than this hysteria-tinged gloating.
