A video published by the American Muckrackers PAC shows Rep. Madison Cawthorn naked and apparently tea bagging another man’s head. The North Carolina representative has released a statement about it and condemned the video as “blackmail.”
In the video, Cawthorn can be seen thrusting his pelvis at another man’s head while screaming and chanting while someone else can be heard laughing and saying “stick it in his face.”
The video quickly went viral on Twitter and was viewed more than 652,800 times.
Cawthorn says that the video was a joke. and quickly tweeted his response.
“A new hit against me just dropped,’ he tweeted on Wednesday night, explaining: ‘Years ago, in this video, I was being crass with a friend, trying to be funny. We were acting foolish and joking. That’s it. ‘I’m NOT backing down. I told you there would be a drip, drip campaign.”
Blackmail won’t win, Cawthorn continued. “We will.”
Cawthorn is running for reelection in his seat in North Carolina and faces several other challengers despite his incumbency.
The Representative also brushed off another round of photos on Twitter that showed him during a cruise ship game wearing hoop earrings, a woman’s necklace and a bra and lingerie set. A former confidante of Cawthorn verified the photos.
“I guess the left thinks goofy vacation photos during a game on a cruise (taken waaay before I ran for Congress) is going to somehow hurt me? They’re running out of things to throw at me…” he responded on Twitter.
Cawthorn included a link to the Royal Carribean Quest Game Show. The website Cruise Critic says, “What Royal Caribbean event has you sharing your underwear, putting lipstick on strangers and screaming at the top of your lungs? It’s the Quest game show, the adults-only scavenger hunt that ranks as a cruise can’t-miss.”
Cawthorn previously made waves in Washington this year for claims that he had been invited to do cocaine and join an orgy. He also mentioned that Nancy Pelosi had a “drinking problem.”
Cawthorn is under investigation by the House Office Of Congressional Ethics after a video came out showing a staffer grabbing his crotch. He’s been pulled over twice this year for driving without a valid license.
