It has been revealed that former President Donald Trump isn’t happy just becoming the new king of social media. Now he is expanding his empire even further with his new plan to take on Netflix and their notoriously “woke” content.
In a series of new recruitment ads posted last week, Trump Media inadvertently revealed the creation of their new streaming platform, TMTG+. The ad was searching for new content buyer and a development manager to create new content for the service.
The advertisement says of the new platform:
“Trump Media & Technology Group’s streaming video on demand service will be a ‘Big Tent’ platform offering broad-based entertainment rooted in free speech.”
It continues, “In addition to the social media platform Truth Social, our SVOD platform TMTG+ will be the home for a wide variety of non-scripted, scripted, and original content.”
The ad then specifies the duties of the new position and how it will essentially be in charge of Trump’s new content. It reads, “The role will generate and develop internal concepts for original unscripted content, short form series episodes and specials. Our ideal candidate will be able to establish priorities and multi-task efficiently within a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.”
According to filings with the Security and Exchange Commission, the service will be headed by Scott St. John, a former NBC producer in charge of “Deal or No Deal.”
Other details of the new streaming service are still heavily under wraps, although it seems clear that Trump’s goal is to create a new series of communication platforms after he was banned from Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter following the January 6 riots.
Still, the creation of a successful streaming service is a daunting task that many others have failed at.
Will you sign up for TMTG+ when it launches? Do you think it will create decent content or do you think it will fall flat like CNN+ and so many other streaming services?
