Joe Biden’s administration has begun preparing for the Supreme Court to strike down Roe v Wade, warning of “mass casualty violence” once it’s reversed.
The announcement came from Biden’s own Department of Homeland Security (DHS), who issued a “heightened threat advisory” on Tuesday ahead of a string of decisions the Supreme Court is expected to announce on Wednesday.
In their declassified advisory, the DHS said that they are expecting terrorist activities to be enacted on “public gatherings, faith-based institutions, schools, racial and religious minorities, government facilities and personnel, U.S. critical infrastructure, the media, and perceived ideological opponents.”
According to the agency, they expect the attacks to be performed by “individuals who advocate both for and against abortion” who have both “encouraged violence, including against government, religious, and reproductive healthcare personnel and facilities, as well as those with opposing ideologies.”
The Department of Homeland Security also suggested that more violence could also come as a result of the current surge in illegal immigration at the US Southern border with Mexico, saying these attacks would most likely target “minorities and law enforcement officials.”
“In the coming months, we expect the threat environment to become more dynamic as several high-profile events could be exploited to justify acts of violence against a range of possible targets,” the statement read. These events include immigration, the ending of Roe v Wade, and the upcoming midterm elections.
The DHS also warned that the attacks were unlikely to come from large organizations on either side of these issues, saying law enforcement needs to be on the lookout for “lone offenders and small groups.”
According to the new report, the risk of violence in these next few months is very real. Do you think Biden and his administration are capable of dealing with these threats? Do you think their anti-police policies will make these even worse?
