Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, has reportedly been barred from an upcoming primary debate.

Giuliani is running for Governor of New York currently as a Republican. According to the son of America’s mayor, WCBS barred him from an upcoming primary debate over his vaccination status.

Not to take a ban lying down, the gubernatorial candidate hit back with a letter from his own campaign addressed to WCBS General Manager Johnny Green Jr.

In it he criticized the channel for their secretive process that left him out of the upcoming debate, saying they painted him as a “public health threat” for his vaccination status.

He also blasted the organization for ignoring CDC policy, which has loosened up restrictions on vaccines in recent months. Notably, the Biden administration removed vaccine requirements from foreign travelers recently.

“While the aim of WCBS’s policy is to use a Covid vaccination as a metric for health and immunity, it is inconsistent with CDC data that shows the vaccine does not prevent infection or transmission,” Giuliani wrote in the letter. “Therefore your arbitrary policy does not satisfy public health and safety but instead serves to discriminate against a political candidate and their access to equal opportunity and religious liberty.”

In an attempt to find a middle ground, Andrew Giuliani even offered to submit an antigen test before the debate proving he is not infected. These at-home tests are often accepted in lieu of a vaccine card by event locations.

“I have offered to go above and beyond your requirement of producing a photo containing the results of a home antigen test in favor of taking a higher-quality PCR in order to face my primary opponents. Since you are instead insisting that I put myself at a disadvantage and debate from a remote location, I am left wondering whether health and safety are your primary objectives here.”

The Governor hopeful has also spoken out publicly about the decision to ban him, using one such video to announce he still plans to debate virtually despite being barred from the building.

Protesters were also spotted outside the event, upset that their chosen candidate was stopped from participating live.

The left has never been a friend of the Giuliani family. Rudy Giuliani was often demonized for his tough on crime stances that cleaned up NYC. Now Andrew is being treated the same. Do you think he should have been allowed to participate in the debate?
