On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blew off questions about pro-abortion attacks on pro-life centers and instead deflected to her Catholic faith.
Pelosi was asked by reporters about the attacks and decided not to denounce them in the slightest.
“I’m a very Catholic person and I believe in every woman’s right to make her own decisions,” the California representative said during her press conference.
Pelosi has defended abortion previously while maintaining that she is a faithful Catholic. However on May 20, Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone announced that Pelosi would not receive Holy Communion in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. He was followed by several other bishops.
She was asked about Republican claims that Democrats have ignored attacks on churches and pro-life centers by pro-abortion activists.
“If 23 Planned Parenthood centers were attacked & someone tried to kill a liberal Justice that is all the media and democrats would be talking about. But since it was 23 Pro-Life organizations & a conservative Justice the media & most democrat politicians don’t care,” said Florida Sen. Marco Rubio about the attacks.
This past weekend, pro-abortion terrorists bombed a pregnancy center in Gresham, Oregon. They wrote on the wall, “If abortions aren’t safe, then neither are you.”
Republican lawmakers have called for Biden’s Department of Justice to take action to protect pro-life centers and over 100 U.S. House members called the attacks “acts of domestic terrorism” in a letter sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland released June 15. Sixteen senators also sent a letter to the AG on June 7. Several Catholic groups have also sent letters to the Attorney General.
During her presser, Pelosi said that other “Catholic countries” have expanded “a woman’s right to choose” referencing Ireland, Italy, and Mexico.
Could you imagine if anti-abortion activists had firebombed an abortion clinic. It would have been national news for weeks. When the shoe is on the other foot, the people in the media and Washington hardly even care. Do you think that they want to continue the violence so that they can rile up their base before the midterms? Let us know your thoughts.
