Massachusetts Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren attacked crisis pregnancy centers this week and said that Congress needs to shut them down. She has been criticized since online for her attacks in the midst of violence hitting pregnancy centers across the country.
“In Massachusetts right now, those crisis pregnancy centers that are there to fool people who are looking for pregnancy termination help outnumber true abortion clinics by 3 to 1. We need to shut them down here in Massachusetts, and we need to shut them down all around the country. You should not be able to torture a pregnant person like that,” Warren told the press.
Crisis pregnancy enters exist to give women a choice to keep a child instead of getting abortion. They provide pregnancy resources such as baby clothes, baby formula, housing, medical services, and diapers. They want to give an option to people making the difficult choice between an abortion and keeping a child.
Chad Felix Green, editor of Oh, Honey, Magazine, wrote in response to Warren, “This is, at its most basic foundation, simply none of the government’s business.”
Casey Mattox, Koch Institute Senior Fellow, tweeted, “Not gonna sugar coat this. It’s evil. If I knew nothing about Elizabeth Warren but the lies she tells about pregnancy centers I’d know enough.”
Warren’s comments come as pregnancy centers across the United States have been attacked following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe.
Warren previously attacked the Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade and has asked for the White House to allow abortions to happen in federal lands to spite state laws.
These attacks are unwarranted. The pregnancy centers provide a helpful service to women that need it instead of an abortion. That’s what has got Elizabeth Warren so upset at them. They might allow a child to get born with support around them. Do you think that this attack was unwarranted?
