Almost as soon as the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24, Democrats were announcing their plans for keeping abortion available to all women in America, no matter where they live. One of the first ideas came from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, aka AOC, and it was to make abortions available on federal land.
Just four days after the Supreme Court released its official decision, AOC was out at a rally yelling, “Open abortion clinics on federal lands in red states right now! “Right now!”
Senator Elizabeth Warren has also pushed the idea of setting up abortion clinics on federal property. “They could put up tents, have trained personnel — and be there to help people who need it,” Warren told the Washington Post. “It’s time to declare a medical emergency.”
Now, Republicans have drafted the Prohibiting Abortions of Federal Land Act, which would do just what its name says.
“Sens. Marco Rubio, Roger Marshall, Jim Risch, Cindy Hyde-Smith, Roger Wicker, Steve Daines, John Thune, and Josh Hawley introduced the Prohibiting Abortion on Federal Lands Act. The legislation would prohibit the Biden Admin…from using federal lands & facilities for abortions.”
The Prohibiting Abortions on Federal Land Act “would prohibit the federal government from promoting, supporting or contracting with abortion providers or otherwise expanding access to abortion on federal lands or facilities such as military installations, national parks, courthouses and federal buildings.”
“The Biden administration will stop at nothing to force their radical abortion agenda nationwide,” Senator Risch said in a statement. “Attempting to bypass states that have made the commitment to treat every human life with respect and dignity is shameless and unacceptable, and we must ensure this option is not on the table. States must be free to stand up for the unborn.”

As much as liberals are determined to find a way to make abortion available again everywhere, Republicans are determined that states will get the right to decide for themselves. What do you think of the “Prohibiting Abortions on Federal Land Act.”
