Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order on July 7th authorizing and empowering the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety to apprehend illegal immigrants who illegally cross the border between ports of entry and return them to the border.

The Biden Administration’s decision to end Title 42 expulsions and the Remain-in-Mexico policy has led to historic levels of illegal crossings, with 5,000 migrants being apprehended over the July 4th weekend, creating a border crisis that has overrun communities along the border and across Texas.

In a statement from Abbott’s office he said, “While President Biden refuses to do his job and enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress, the State of Texas is once again stepping up and taking unprecedented action to protect Americans and secure our southern border,”. “The cartels have become emboldened and enriched by President Biden’s open border policies, smuggling in record numbers of people, weapons, and deadly drugs like fentanyl.”

As noted in the executive order, the Biden Administration “has abandoned the covenant, in Article IV, § 4 of the U.S. Constitution, that ‘[t]he United States . . . shall protect each [State in this Union] against Invasion,’ and thus has forced the State of Texas to build a border wall, deploy state military forces, and enter into agreements as described in Article I, § 10 of the U.S. Constitution to secure the State of Texas and repel the illegal immigration that funds the cartels.”

“I have authorized the Texas National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety to begin returning illegal immigrants to the border to stop this criminal enterprise endangering our communities,” continued Governor Abbott. “As the challenges on the border continue to increase, Texas will continue to take action to address those challenges caused by the Biden Administration.”

Amid the surge of illegal migrants at the southern border, Greg Abbott was pressed about his role in stopping the flow.

On July 29th, The Daily Caller’s Jorge Ventura asked what the governor would be doing to hold Mexican state governors responsible for illegal border crossings given recent agreements between the two nations.

“What are you doing to hold the Mexican state governors accountable for not obeying the agreement you made with them?” Ventura asked.

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott told Ventura that accountability “may come soon”

“The accountability may come soon, but we’ve been in discussion with our border neighbors about what they’ve been doing. I will tell you this, obviously the state right across the border is Coahuila … The governor of Coahuila is doing a lot, maybe as much as anybody to disband the caravans and people who would come across the border. His challenge is the same as my challenge and that is the president of his country,” Abbott said.

Abbott has also made agreements with Mexican governors from the states of Chihuahua, Tamaulipas and Nuevo León. Apparently the deals are ineffective or, Governor Abbott is not doing enough to hold them to their word. Whatever the case may be, the border crisis is clear and there is no end in sight.

To send a message to President Joe Biden and the Federal Government, Gov. Greg Abbott has been busing illegal immigrants to the nation’s capital since May

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser appeared on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday to discuss the persistent homelessness problem plaguing her city.

Bowser admitted that it’s a “significant issue” and called on the federal government to get more involved as she fears illegal immigrants are being “tricked” into traveling to her city.

“Well, this is a very significant issue. We have for sure called on the federal government to work across state lines to prevent people from really being tricked into getting on buses. We think they’re largely asylum seekers who are going to final destinations that are not Washington, D.C. I worked with the White House to make sure that FEMA provided a grant to a local organization that is providing services to folks. I fear that they’re being tricked into nationwide bus trips when their final destinations are places all over the United States of America,” Bowser said.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has sent several buses of illegal immigrants to Washington D.C. to manage the rapid influx of illegal of illegal immigration. His order to bus migrants to D.C. came after multiple border communities complained about the increase of illegal immigrants.
