White House infections disease expert and leader of the National Institute of Health Dr. Anthony Fauci has served under seven presidents and told Politico that he plans to retired by the end of President Joe Biden’s term.
“We’re in a pattern now. If somebody says, ‘You’ll leave when we don’t have Covid anymore,’ then I will be 105. I think we’re going to be living with this,” Biden’s chief medical adviser said to claims that people want him to stay to fight the pandemic.
He said something similar about leaving during an interview with CNN on July 18th at the 05:30 minute mark.
Dr. Fauci told CNN’s Kate Bolduan about his plans to leave at the end of Biden’s term, which ends in January 2025, the government’s top infectious disease expert told CNN’s Kate Bolduan.
Fauci says he does not have a specific time period for leaving, but does plan on leaving after Biden’s first term ends.
He also insisted that we will be living with the pandemic for many years.
He also spoke with Politico about his relationship with former President Donald Trump.
“We developed an interesting relationship,” said the doctor who is from the same state as Trump. “Two guys from New York, different in their opinions and their ideology, but still, two guys who grew up in the same environments of this city. I think that we are related to each other in that regard.”
He does anticipate Republicans coming after him if they win the midterms this year and take back the House and Senate.
“They’re going to try and come after me, anyway. I mean, probably less so if I’m not in the job,” he told the outlet. “I don’t make that a consideration in my career decision.”
Last month, Fauci rebounded from symptoms of the virus after he became sick earlier this month. He took Pfizer’s antiviral drug Paxlovid to recover.
“It was sort of what people are referring to as a Paxlovid rebound,” Fauci said.
Paxlovid is the top treatment for the pandemic. It’s an antiviral that’s used with high-risk patients, like Fauci who are elderly. The drug was approved by the FDA at the end of 2021.
Pfizer’s drug has reduced the risk of hospitalization and death by 89 percent for victims of the virus, according to UC San Diego Health.
It’s time for Fauci to go. He needs to retire. He’s one of the most paid people in the government because somebody needs to get paid to shill for the health lobby in Washington and the media. He has done a huge disservice to this country by pushing lockdowns and other maltreatments for the pandemic. Say “Bye, Bye Fauci!” in the comments.
