Dems Block GOP Resolution to Condemn Violence Against Pro-Life Centers and Churches

Most House Republicans voted no on this bill. Liberals will say that is because they want to turn the United States into a version of “The Handmaid’s Tale.” Republicans say they just don’t want to pass unnecessary laws. What’s your position?

On Tuesday, Democrats in the House of Representatives blocked  House Resolution 1233, which was introduced by Republican Representative Mike Johnson. Resolution 1233 sought to condemn “the recent attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches.”

Representative Johnson got on Twitter to tell the world what happened saying, “[e]ver since the Dobbs decision, crisis pregnancy centers have been subjected to a nationwide spate of violence and vandalism, that has been met with silence from President Biden and Democrats. Enough is enough.”

Johnson listed several instances where, he says, liberals have committed acts of vandalism and harassment at pregnancy centers and churches. One example was at a pro-life crisis pregnancy center in Asheville, North Carolina. Law enforcement stated, “…that someone had spray-painted the business with red graffiti, with the threatening wording, ‘If abortions aren’t safe, neither are you!’ and an anarchist symbol on the front of the building.”  He said one pro-abortion group scrawled “God loves abortion” at Agape Pregnancy Center in Des Moines, Iowa. The group Jane’s Revenge took credit for that, he said. At the Life Choices pregnancy center in Longmont, Colorado police said “[t]he building sustained fire and heavy smoke damage,” and that the case is being investigated as arson.

And in yet another example, this happened just a day after Dobbs was announced: “Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center, in Virginia, was vandalized last night by pro-abortion domestic terrorists. This type of destruction does nothing to scare the #prolife movement. It only strengthens our resolve to love & serve. #LifeIsAHumanRight http://brpcfriends.org

Ivana Trump, Donald’s first wife, died suddenly last week and has been laid to rest

It is hard to imagine why anyone would refuse to cooperate with a resolution condemning criminal activity. Resolutions are not laws, but merely expressions of the “sentiments” of either the House or Senate. The GOP was simply asking the Dems to say what these groups are doing is unacceptable. By their silence, they are saying the criminal activity is acceptable. What is wrong with these people?
