On Friday, one of the top races in the country got a shakeup from the Cook Political Report. The race has now shifted from a “toss-up” to “lean Republican.”

This means that perennial candidate Stacey Abrams is likely to lose again.

The Georgia race for governor between Stacey Abrams and Brian Kemp is one of the top races in the country and both candidates have been raising tens of millions of dollars leading up to the match up, but the race has decidedly taken a turn away from Abrams in recent analysis.

The main reason is likely Biden.

Watch Abrams be confronted by CNN’s Don Lemon about Biden’s low approval ratings at 01:17 in the video up until 3:45.

She refused to really answer and pivoted to attack Kemp’s performance as Governor of the state.

Abrams announced that her campaign had raised a combined $22 million in May and June and had raised a combined $18.5 million in cash.

On the other hand, Kemp raised $6.8 million over the same time period and shows $6.4 million on hand.

Overall, Kemp has raised $31 million while Abrams has raised $49 million, according to a write up by Newsweek.

Despite the massive spending and a fundraising advantage towards Abrams, a Cygnal poll conducted on July 5 through 7 shows that Kemp has a 50-45 percent lead over Abrams currently. The poll has a margin of error of +/-2.6 percent. Kemp is also doing well with Hispanic voters in the state.

The majority of Kemp’s money also comes from Georgia while Abrams is being funded from liberal strongholds, according to an Axios report.

The most startling observation from the poll is how unfavorably voters view President Joe Biden. Fifty-eight percent saw the president unfavorably and 40 percent saw him favorably. This is bad for Democrats across the country to be running against their own leader in elections.

This is bad news for Abrams who thought that Georgia would be the state to take for the Democrats this year.

Biden Taken Off Heart Meds To Treat Virus, Risk Of Blood Clots

The state has become more and more of a swing state in recent years, and after winning last year, Sen. Raphael Warnock will also be facing a tough re-election against NFL star Herschel Walker in the midterms.

Kemp defeated Trump-backed David Perdue in May setting him up for the general.

Do you think that Joe Biden is going to turn the state of Georgia red this cycle? It has been slipping away from the Dem’s favorite daughter, Stacey Abrams, in recent months and it seems that trend is going to continue. Do you think it’s time for the Dems to just dump Biden already?
