According to Trump, an indictment would not prevent him from running for president again, and Americans “would not stand for” his prosecution.
The FBI’s search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida sparked a political firestorm last month. Prosecutors obtained a search warrant in August after receiving evidence that classified documents were being concealed at the residence in violation of a grand jury subpoena, according to a Justice Department court filing. Hundreds of empty folders with classified markings, along with highly classified records, were recovered by agents.
